Here&#8217;s how to read it correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The red circle: dispersion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When the &#8220;grouping&#8221; option is enabled in the display settings, a red circle appears around the current series of impacts. It represents the average dispersion of your shots, with its diameter also shown as a numerical value next to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The red (X): the mean position, not the center of the circle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the point that&#8217;s often misunderstood: the red <strong>(X)<\/strong>, along with its corresponding (x, y) coordinates, does not indicate the geometric center of the circle, but the <strong>mean position of all the impacts<\/strong>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"637\" height=\"467\" src=\"https:\/\/sportquantum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-37.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38046\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sportquantum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-37.png 637w, https:\/\/sportquantum.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-37-480x352.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 637px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why this distinction matters<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In practice, this means that a single impact that lands far away from the rest of the group will have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a <strong>strong influence on the circle<\/strong>, since the circle must by definition encompass all impacts, including the most outlying ones;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>but a <strong>much more limited influence on the mean position (X)<\/strong>, which stays anchored close to the core of the group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why we use the mean position for sight calibration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We chose to display the mean position rather than the geometric center of the circle, because this value best reflects the actual behavior of your shooting when adjusting your sighting device.
